Hey, I'm Mia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat residing in Berlin, Germany.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Germany wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more tricky than they should have.
The Adjustment Window
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Created Bright Marble Studio
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A tourism authority source
- Sponsored review site
- A general travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany goes on, and the learning journey continues as well. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
